Requesting Records and Transcripts
“Official transcripts” are the same documentation as an “unofficial transcript”, what makes them official is they are signed, stamped, and sealed in an envelope.
Click on the tabs below to read how to request records.
Transcript and Records Requests for Everyone
Requests received via fax, phone calls, emails, and mail from other schools will no longer be accepted. Seattle Public Schools is now using a web-based application to help us manage all student records requests.
All former and transferring student records requests must be submitted online using the K-12 Transfer application. This application is a secure, self-service application that is easy to use:
Request records or transcripts based on your scenario:
- I am a Current HS student or a Parent of a current HS student student under the age of 18 and would like to order an Official Transcript.
- I am a Former Student and would like to order your student record, Diploma or transcript
- If you graduated less than 2 years ago, please email Merrily Matthews mqmatthews@seattleschools.org to schedule a pick-up of your official transcript for FREE.
- I am a corporation, verification company, or government agency requesting a graduation verification or student record
- I am a K12 district seeking the transfer of a Seattle Schools former student
- I am a College or University requesting a student record
Seattle Public Schools processes request electronically within 3-5 school days.
For more information about the student records that we provide, please see the Transferring Student Records Request page. Please contact support@scribsoft.com if you have any issues setting up your account or submitting a record request.
Visit the District School Records webpage for additional details and information.
Transcript Requests for Current Students
Students are able to request copies of their transcripts in a number of ways:
- If you need a transcript, please email Ms. Matthews mqmatthew@seattleschools.org to request one.
- If your application is on Common App & Coalition platform, add your School Counselor to your profile on the platform. Your school counselor will send your transcript for you directly through that platform (depending on the school – i.e. UW does not require a transcript).
- If the first two options do not apply, request your transcripts through Naviance
- Once students had favorited a college by clicking the heart icon, only students are eligible to request transcripts to be sent. Transcripts can be sent to all non-common app schools including UW and other Coalition app schools.
- Step 1. From the Naviance home screen, select Colleges and “College I’m Thinking About”.
- Step 2. Select the box next to each school where transcripts should be sent.
- Step 3. Select Request Transcripts. Make sure the deadline is correct and You have set application to Direct to institution.
- Step 4. Review the request and select the correct type of transcript, additional materials, and location transcript should be sent.
- Step 5. Select Request and Finish.
