2024-2025 Scholarships
Scholarship for African American Students
Students must have a 3.0 or higher GPA
Application Deadline: February 15th, 2025.
Amount: Up to $6,000!
Scholarship for African American Students Criteria
Application: The scholarship application can only be retrieved and submitted by Girl Friends, Inc. chapter representatives. Please contact your Counselor for the application.
If you identify as being African American and have a 3.0 cum GPA, you are eligible for the attached scholarship. Please let your counselor know if you do apply so we can connect you to our in-district contact.
Lastly, the application requires letters of recommendation from a teacher and school counselor. As a reminder, if you need a letter of recommendation from a counselor, you’ll need to submit your academic resume to us and ask us kindly to write you a letter. If you provided a resume to us already, kindly remind us so we can reuse the one we wrote on your behalf and submitted on the Common App.

InspirASIAN Scholarship
Applicants must meet ALL of the following eligibility requirements:
- Full-time graduating high school seniors in good academic standing (minimum unweighted cumulative GPA 3.40 on 4-point scale), of any ethnic or cultural background, who plan to attend an accredited college or university (2-year and 4-year) in Fall 2025.
- Citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
- Residents of one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, and the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area (Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia).
Students interested in applying will need to download and complete the InspirAsian Scholarship accomplishments spreadsheet and InspirASIAN Scholarship essay document. The completed files will need to be uploaded through our InspirASIAN Scholarship online submission page. All applications are due before January 31, 2025 at 11:59 PM PST. Students who make it into the final round will also be required to send in an official high school transcript.

Sea Mar Scholarships
Sea Mar Farmworker High School & College Scholarships
- Sea Mar recognizes and acknowledges the barriers children of farm working families face in their pursuit of a college degree. Economic strains, as well as language and cultural barriers can often affect these students.
- Sometimes students need to work after school and all summer to assist their family. Sea Mar is proud to provide annual scholarships to help make college a reality.
- Award amount: $1,000.

Latino/a Educational Achievement Project Scholarship
- The Sea Mar Latino/a Educational Achievement Project Scholarship provides financial support for students who demonstrate a history of advocacy, responsibility, accountability, perseverance, are go-getters, and have shown or have the strong potential to be contributors to their community.
- Award amount: $2,500

- The Sea Mar Community Health Centers Scholarships are now open! Sea Mar will be awarding $1,000 scholarships to students who are of migrant or seasonal farm worker backgrounds.
- In addition to this, Sea Mar offers a $2,500 scholarship to students who demonstrate a history of advocacy, responsibility, accountability, and perseverance. The money can be used to cover expenses while you’re enrolled in college such as tuition, food, housing, books, etc!

American Indian Endowed Scholarship
Deadline to Apply: March 3, 2025
The American Indian Endowed Scholarship (AIES) helps students with financial need who have close social and cultural ties to an American Indian community in Washington State. Students can use the scholarship at public colleges and many independent colleges in Washington. The program prioritizes upper-division and graduate-level students, but all applicants are considered.
Award amounts range from around $500 to $2,000. Ten to 15 students are selected each year to receive the awards. Students may get AIES funding for up to five years, but must reapply each year.
Many past recipients have careers in law, medicine, education, business, and resource management. All have returned, or plan to return, to their tribal communities to work on behalf of Indian peoples within the state.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate financial need based on a completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
- Meet Washington State Residency Requirements for financial aid.
- Intend to enroll full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student at a participating public or private college or university in Washington State beginning fall term of the application year.
- Intend to use their education to benefit the American Indian community in Washington State.
- Not pursue a degree in theology.
- Have not yet received a total of five years of this scholarship.
How to Apply

You can request a transcript in a number of ways:

Scholarships for SPS Students
Scholarships are a type of grant (monetary gift you do not have to pay back) for students to use in paying for after high school training and college programs. Scholarships are available for students as early as elementary school and continue through graduate school.
Federal and State programs provide over 46 billion dollars in student aid. Private companies, community organizations, civic groups, foundations, and religious organizations provide an additional 3 billion dollars in scholarships.

A scholarship database can be found in Naviance (all SPS 6th-12th grade students have 24/7 access to Naviance) as well as some of the following resources. You should never pay for access to scholarships you find online.
