Ingraham Weekly Bulletin

Summary: The weekly bulletin is distributed by email on Friday afternoons, and posted on the Ingraham website.

Weekly Bulletin – May 22, 2026

Attendance Office:  Please email ingrahamhs.attendance@seattleschools.org

Parents/Guardians:  If your student is withdrawing from Ingraham this school year, it is important to let us know!  Please notify the district online in less than 3 minutes if your student will not attend Ingraham.

If you have moved, it is important to let us, and the district know by completing a Change of Address form

Pre-Planned Absence Forms

If your student will be missing two or more days of school, please remember to submit a Pre-Planned Absence Form. Common examples of pre-planned absences include family vacations, surgery or medical procedures, family events, and non-district athletic competitions. Providing the form in advance helps students and teachers plan for missed instruction and assignments.

Forms are available in the Attendance Office or online on the Ingraham Attendance page.

Completed forms must be turned in at least three school days before the first day of the planned absence. Thank you for helping us support strong, consistent attendance!

10th (and some 11th) grade Families:  SBA Math testing May 26-29

The state mandated Smarter Balanced Assessment in Math will take place in math classrooms May 26-29. Smarter Balanced Assessments are a state required assessment that serves as one possible pathway to meeting your students’ math graduation requirements.  All 10th grade students will be testing this week in May.  Juniors who have not yet met their math graduation pathway will also be testing in their math class.  Juniors, not sure if you need to test?  Ask your teacher to show you the list (organized by student number) or come by room 162 where it is posted on the wall.   Make-ups and test completion will take place June 2 and 3 .

Testing requires the use of a district provided laptop, so students should charge and bring their laptop to class that week. Please go to the Ingraham Assessment and Testing page to find links and information on how to take training and practice tests.   If you have any questions, please reach out to Jennifer Luthe (Testing Coordinator) at jlluthe@seattleschools.org

Parents of current Sophomores and Juniors: Prepare now for the fall PSAT and SAT!!

Traditionally, Seattle Public Schools has offered the SAT (to seniors) and the PSAT (to juniors) each October at no cost to students/families.  All juniors and all seniors have been automatically registered for these exams.  We have not yet received confirmation that SPS will offer these assessments in October 2026, but we are planning with the hope that these exams will continue to be offered.  While testing will have to take place in October, it is unlikely that student scores will be ready by November 1st.  If your senior is contemplating Early Action or Early Decision for their university application process, please do not rely on our School Day SAT.  Please plan accordingly.

Does your student need accommodations for either of these exams?  Testing accommodations in a student’s IEP or 504 Plan DO NOT automatically transfer to College Board assessments like the SAT or PSAT.  If your student had accommodations on the PSAT or an AP exam, they are good to go for the SAT.  However, if accommodations are still needed, they must be requested at least 7 weeks in advance of the exam, and that lands in the middle of our summer break when there isn’t anyone available to input the request.  Check in with Ms. Luthe or your student’s IEP case manager before school ends to make sure that your student has the accommodations they need.  Jennifer Luthe jlluthe@seattleschools.org.

Bright Futures: Purchasing items from our Donation Closet Wishlist

We are a student support program led by a committee of Ingraham staff and parent volunteers who work together to directly help over 200 Ingraham students experiencing food and housing insecurity. One of the ways we offer support is by providing a special space in the school, called the Pride Closet. This is a safe, judgement-free room where our students in need can pick up essentials like clothing & shoes, backpacks & school supplies, warm coats & gloves, and a variety of toiletries. Many items are running low. We wonder if you would consider purchasing one of these much-needed items from our Amazon wishlist? You can select direct delivery to the Counseling office at Ingraham. Thank you, Ramily, for showing up for our most vulnerable students. It takes a village!

If you would like to learn more about the Bright Futures program, and about how you can get involved, please visit our website, or reach out to Michele Fowler at foibrightfutures@gmail.com.

School Communication

Ingraham uses various methods to communicate information out to students and families:

  • Students, please start checking your SPS email inbox daily for information from school and read the Friday bulletins.
  • Schoology pages
  • Talking Points: A text-based system that sends translated messages to your phone.
  • Principal Newsletter: A personal message from Principal Zack Elvig, sent on Mondays.
  • Friday Bulletins:  We email the school bulletin weekly via a system called School Messenger. It is always updated on the Ingraham website. Occasionally, we hear from parents/guardians who say they are not receiving the bulletin or have suddenly stopped receiving them.  It is usually an email filter issue, or you have inadvertently unsubscribed.  Please manage your SPS communication preferences

Senior Events Fundraising

We are grateful for the growing number of families who have stepped up to support the Senior Events Fundraiser. Thanks to your generosity, we are moving closer to our $20,000 goal!

Senior events mark an important transition for our students:

  • A final gathering at Senior Breakfast on graduation morning
  • A visible celebration of achievement with free yard signs for every graduate
  • A fun, safe night of connection at Senior Spree following graduation

If you’ve already donated, thank you for helping make these moments possible. If you haven’t had a chance yet, we invite you to join the families by making a Senior Event Fundraising donation today.

Many employers will match charitable gifts, so please check if your donation can be doubled through your company’s matching gift program.

Thank you for being part of this special moment in our students’ lives.
