1. The Lit Department is taking the seniors on a field trip to MoPOP and looking for chaperones.
The field trip is on Thursday, Feb 27from 9:30– 2:00 (meeting at MoPOP).
We are seeing the Keith Haring exhibit; the permanent collections will be open as well. Each chaperone will be responsible for 10 students, but the field trip is mostly self-guided, so chaperones are monitoring and then facilitating the transition to lunch at the Armory and into small groups for the post-exhibit discussion. We need 12 more chaperones.
This opportunity is open to any can chaperone even if your student is not going on the field trip. If you are interested, please email Laura Turner laturner@seattleschools.org.
2. Chaperones Needed for the 44th Annual Women in Trades Fair May 2 at the Seattle Center
Two chaperones are needed for this wonderful fair at the Fischer Pavilion. The event runs 9am to 2pm, and up to 30 Ingraham students are welcome to register, starting March 1st. Vendors come from all the region, showcasing opportunities for high schoolers to learn how to get into apprenticeships, internships, and future job opportunities in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, firefighting, security, transportation, elevators, electrical jobs, boating, parks & recreation, and so much more! If interested, please email Ingraham’s Career Connect Learning Coordinator, Genét Simone at gesimone@seattleschools.org.
3. Chaperones needed for “Bite of Reality” event at Ingraham High School, Thursday Feb 27, 8:30-11:00am
“Bite of Reality” is a simulation run by Sound Credit Union. Chaperones would assist students with this fun activity, where they have a persona (teacher, realtor, doctor, etc.) and visit various stations in the gym to create a budget and see if they can sustain it! If interested, please contact Genét Simone, Career Connect Learning Coordinator, at gesimone@seattleschools.org.
KEXP Radio Station Tour a Success!
On February 4, ten eager Ingraham students travelled got a chance to see behind the scenes of their favorite music station, KEXP, located next to Climate Pledge Arena at the Seattle Center. The tour was led by the station’s Education & Volunteer Engagement Programs Administrator, Mathilde Xiao. She showed them a recording studio, the archives, and more. Students also met a program producer and engineer while they were on the air. Before returning to Ingraham, students perused the “record store” in The Gathering Place. Another tour will be arranged in the fall.

School Communication
Ingraham uses various methods to communicate information out to students and families:
- Students, please start checking your SPS email inbox daily for information from school.
- Schoology pages
- School Bulletins: We email the school bulletin weekly via a system called School Messenger. Occasionally, we hear from parents/guardians who say they are not receiving the bulletin or have suddenly stopped receiving them. It is usually an email filter issue, or you have inadvertently unsubscribed. Manage your communication preferences on School Messenger.
