Testing Specifics for Ingraham Students
State Required Assessments – SBA and WCAS
SBA (Smarter Balanced Assessments)/WCAS (Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science)
These assessments are one option for meeting district-required graduation pathways in Language Arts and Math. If deficient in certain, specific credits, the SBA can allow a student to earn back credit lost – see your counselor for more specifics. These exams are required by the state, and primary testing takes place during a student’s sophomore (10th grade) year. SBA testing for students in 11th or 12th grade is reserved for students who have not yet met their graduation pathway. Assessment accommodations are taken directly from a student’s IEP or 504 Plan as needed.
For test examples and/or practice – SBA Practice and Training. Student name and SSID are NOT needed for practice (though it seems like it). Choose option “Continue as Guest” on the right (blue button). On the next screen choose “Guest Session” on the right (another blue button). On the third screen enter your grade level, and then you are given options for the test you would like to practice. Training tests show you test functionality. Practice tests focus on content and question style.
NOTE – Ingraham will observe Block Scheduling for all classes during standard SBA testing during the spring of 2026. Per the district, the SBA testing window closes June 5, 2026.

College Credit Assessments – AP and IB
IB (International Baccalaureate)
For information about IB testing, please go to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program page.
AP (Advanced Placement)
Due to our focus on IB programing, Ingraham offers fewer AP exams than most other high schools in the district. Students sign up and pay to take AP exams (generally when they are enrolled in the AP course at the school) in late October/early November. Per Seattle Public Schools guidelines, we cannot allow late exam registrations.
The College Board (the company that offers AP) does not automatically allow testing accommodations from IEPs or 504 plans. Accommodations for AP exams must be requested at least 7 weeks prior to testing. Assistance in requesting accommodations can be provided through Ingraham’s Testing Coordinator, or the process can be completed independently through this link:
https://accommodations.collegeboard.org/request-accommodations/request/without-the-school
Spring 2026 AP courses, and test days and times:
AP Statistics: Thursday, May 7th – 12-4 pm
AP Calculus AB/BC: Monday, May 11th – 8am-12.
AP Computer Science A: Friday, May 15th – 12-4pm.
Student testing accommodations can extend exam time. Late testing is possible (on the College Board’s testing schedule), if circumstances require it. Exam locations are communicated to students via school email two weeks prior to exam date.
College Readiness Exams – SAT and ACT:
While not as integral as in the past, college readiness exams like the SAT and the ACT can still be a helpful tool for students planning to attend a 4-yr university. These exams can differentiate a student from other applicants and, depending on the score earned, meet high school Graduation Pathway requirements. Historically, Seattle Public Schools has offered the SAT to seniors and PSAT to juniors (at no cost to students) each October.
If a student wishes to take the ACT or the SAT at a different time of year/grade level, all registration and preparation is handled through the testing companies themselves. For either exam, qualifying for Free and Reduced Lunch can eliminate or greatly reduce the cost of testing.

SPS Link to Free and Reduced Lunch information and paperwork.
ACT Schedule – Instructions on how to apply for ACT accommodations. Because of Seattle Public Schools’ connection to the SAT and the College Board, all ACT preparation and registration is the responsibility of the student.
SAT
SAT Schedule – Instructions on how to apply for SAT accommodations without the school. Because Seattle Public Schools offers the SAT School Day each fall, and AP testing, Ingraham’s Testing Coordinator and Special education department can support in the accommodation request process with the College Board. Students with IEPs should reach out to their case manager for assistance. Students with 504 plans should contact the Testing Coordinator for help.
While the Testing Coordinator facilitates the SAT School Day exam each fall, testing on any other date or location is outside of their access. Exam registration for any exam other than SAT School Day is the responsibility of the student.
PSAT
The PSAT is offered by the College Board each fall in conjunction with the SAT School Day. Testing takes place in October, here at Ingraham. Seattle Public Schools only offers the PSAT to juniors (11th grade). The accommodation request process is the same as what is in place for the SAT and AP exams.
