WAGIN teamThirty Ingraham students attended the Washington Global Issues Network (WAGIN) Conference at Chief Sealth International High School on March 22nd – 23rd, 2019. Members of the Ingraham Environmental and Global Politics clubs presented workshops. Thirteen additional Ingraham students volunteered in a variety of roles (cooking food, leading small groups, taking photos, etc.). And four Ingraham students were part of the core planning team that organized the entire event: Karlee Taylor, Wren Wagenbach, Ivy Jaquzny, and Eli Hess. Mike Wentzel and Peter Behr were our brave chaperones.

More than 200 students from over 30 schools, including groups from Cuba, Mexico and South Korea, participated in the conference. There were some amazing keynote speakers. Superintendent Juneau and Lt. Governor Cyrus Habib also spoke to the attendees. Each group that attended led a workshop focused on a global issue. Topics included climate change, racial justice, food waste, ocean pollution, access to education, and many more.
