Family Literacy, Math, and Science Toolkits
Seattle Public Schools has developed the Family Literacy, Math, and Science ToolKits to assist families in helping with their children’s learning at home and at school. These books are full of activities that you can do with your children in the summer and throughout the school year, specific to each child's grade and developmental level.
In May 2013, the Family Toolkits were updated to address the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS) that have been adopted by Washington as well as most other states throughout the United States. Translations of these documents will be available at a future date. The Common Core Standards that are listed in the Toolkits have suggestions for families of activities that they can do at home to help build the skills their children need. You can find translations of the original Family Toolkits at the bottom of the page which have many helpful suggestions for families.
