We have several Ingraham Staff who will not be returning next year and some who are on a leave. Media at Ingraham High School
We will have media on site this week at Ingraham High School - June 20th through the 23rd. Students who are not to be video taped have been alerted to this information. This will be a positive media story with some lasting benefits for future Ingraham Students.

Last School Day for Students!
The last school day for students is June 23rd - we will have an early dismissal at 1:30 PM on Thursday. Have a wonderful summer and be sure to read a good book!

Ingraham Graduation
The Class of 2011 will celebrate their Graduation from High School on Monday - June 13th @ 6:30 PM on the Ingraham Sports Field. Parents and family are cordially invited to attend the ceremony. Each Ingraham student has been given 5 admission tickets for the ceremony, if you need extra seats please call the Main Office #252-3888. The bleachers only hold 1,000 individuals, so if you intend on sitting for the graduation ceremony it is wise to arrive a little early for the event. Ingraham is under construction so the only area open for parking is on the Northeast part of campus. There will be two shuttles available for family who need assistance getting to the field,the golf carts will be positioned at the top of Northeast corner of the football field by the utility shed. We are looking forward to a bright and sunny evening as we celebrate the Class of 2011.

Welcome Meeting for incoming 9th graders
Attention all incoming 9th Grade RAMS!Your are cordially invited to our Welcome to Ingraham Night - on June 15th - Wednesday @ 7:00 PM in the Ingraham Library. This meeting is for parents and students and a wonderful chance to meet some Ingraham teachers and coaches. You will have an opportunity to sign up for Fall Sports and find out about summer practices. We will have our Ingraham RAM Gear for sale as well - lots of fun t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats! Senior Graduation Events
  1. Attention Ingraham Seniors and Parents! Graduation will be here before you know it and you need to be prepared for all the events!
  2. Senior Cards are for sale now - only $120. This card includes a ticket to The Senior Breakfast and the Senior Party (SPREE).If you want to purchase only the SPREE ticket it is $100 and the breakfast ticket is $30.
  3. The Senior Breakfast is June 13th @ 9:00 AM at the Canal
  4. Graduation is June 13th @ 6:30 PM on the Ingraham field.
  5. The Senior Party or (SPREE) is right after Graduation from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM the next day.
  6. The Senior Committee would love parent volunteers! Please call the Main Office #206-252-3888 for more information.

Senior Awards Night
We will honor our Ingraham Seniors on May 25th @ 7:00 PM in the Ingraham Library. Please mark this event on your calendar at home and make a note of it in your phone or blackberry. This is a super time to bring the grandparents and other family members! We are so proud of all of our graduating seniors! Way to go Class of 2011!

Shout out for our Boys Soccer Team!  They have made it to play-offs for the third year in a row.  This afternoon (May 4th) is senior night(day) at 3:30. Science HSPE Testing
Science HSPE News: Tuesday – April 12th – The Science HSPE is mandatory for sophomores, optional for juniors and seniors. There will be a late start for everyone else not testing. School will begin at 11:15 AM. We will have classes in the PM – periods 2,4,6. JGraupner

Congratulations to the Ingraham Debate Team
Congratulations to the Ingraham debate team for their hard work at state! Oakley Shelton-Thomas and Liam Donnelly took second place. Jamie Keene was 4th speaker, Ysabel Mullarky was 8th speaker, and Oakley was 9th. What a way to cap off an amazing season! The debate team will meet again next Monday, March 28 to get ready for Nationals.

Ingraham PTSA Golden Acorn Award – Spring 2011
  • Under the auspices of the Ingraham PTSA, you are invited to participate in our annual selection of Golden Acorn Award winners.  Here’s what you need to know.
  • General Background:  The Golden Acorn has been a Washington State PTA program for many years.  It offers a chance to recognize volunteers who have given outstanding service to all children in the school community.  Additionally, the payment of $70 by the local PTA unit or council for every Golden Acorn award funds the Washington State PTA Scholarship Foundation, which annually awards over $65,000 in grants to freshmen students entering post-secondary education.
  • Ingraham PTSA Background:  At Ingraham, the PTSA has usually awarded two Golden Acorns per year.  One recognizes a dedicated staff member who has gone over and above the regular demands of his or her job in order to help support our students.  The second Golden Acorn recognizes a community member who has given continued and dedicated service to students, the PTSA, or to Ingraham High School, and who has demonstrated commitment to helping teens achieve their potential.

Calling all 9th Grade parents!
Monday (March 7) at 6 PM, counselor Jacky Graupner will be demonstrating the Naviance system to 9th grade parents. This is an important tool our students are using to map out their high school years. This is your chance to learn how to use the system, and to ask questions along side other parents - thus avoiding the embarrassment of having to ask your teenager for help. Don't miss this exciting opportunity! If you plan to come, please send an email to: jmgraupner@seattleschools.org with your name and the name of your student. If you provide this information before the meeting, an access code will be set up so that you can get into the system on Monday night. (If we don't have your information in advance, you can get into the system later.) We look forward to seeing you on Monday at 6 PM in the library! Testing Information
  • HSPE (High School Proficiency Exam) Information Remember passing the HSPE or a state-approved alternate assessment is required for graduation.
  • All sophomores and those juniors and seniors who need to take the writing and/or reading HSPE, will take the tests on :
  • Writing - March 15th (per.1,3,5) and 16th (2,4,6)
  • Reading  - March 17th (1,3,5)
  • Science - April 1 2th (2,4,6) mandatory for sophomores, optional for juniors and seniors.
  • There will be a late start for everyone else- students need to be at school in time for their first class @ 11:15 AM

New Dates for Open Enrollment - March 15 - April 8
Significant changes in transportation service for next year are under consideration, with a decision expected at the Feb. 16 Board meeting. The Transportation Department will be sending out letters notifying families about students' transportation eligibility for next year. Leadership Conference
 Ingraham Student Council hosts Seattle Public Schools Leadership Conference!   “Getting Connected”  !  Schools from around the city joined the ASB crew at Ingraham to learn how to get connected with their building, PTSA, school board members, and the community.  Workshops also included sportsmanship, diversity, and how to pep up your pep assemblies.     This is part of a new “Seattle Student Senate” program that involves student leaders who are wanting to share their ideas, concerns, and take them forward to the next level.

Youth Fair - Feb 23rd
The Seattle Human Services Department is sponsoring a Youth Education, Career and Resource Fair on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 10:00am – 2:00pm at the Rainier Community Center in Seattle.  (This date is during Seattle Public Schools’ Mid-Winter Break.)  All youth aged 14-21 who live and/or go to school in Seattle are invited to attend!  The Fair is a great opportunity for youth to network with potential employers, to talk to reps from colleges and universities, and to learn about a host of other community resources.  Workshops for youth will also be offered on:  Finding and Keeping a Job, What to do After Graduation, Career Interests/Resume Writing Green Jobs, and Making a Career out of Helping in the Community. More...

FAFSA Info night - January 11th

Mark your calendars!  Ingraham is hosting a financial aid night for students and families on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, from 6-8pm in the Ingraham library.  There will be FAFSA filing support (complete your FAFSA at the workshop!), information on paying for college, a representative from the WashBoard for scholarship information for local students, and a chance to win one of two $500 scholarships just for attending.  For the classes of 2012 and beyond, there will be information on the College Bound program and how to access your College Bound scholarship.  You can register for the event at www.collegegoalsundaywa.org.  Select Ingraham High School as the site.
